English

It is customary to claim that the integrative efficiency of mass gatherings is the result of the emotions felt by the participants. The 'chill in the spine' is supposed to unite consciences or even to be the crucible of civic engagement. These are the arguments of commentators who observe students demonstration with tenderness. This paper tries to qualify this argument by questioning the idea according to which street demonstrations, given their collective nature, promote socialization.
