Marc Bessin is a sociologist and Director of Research at the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, France). He teaches at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, Paris). He is a member of the Institut de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les enjeux Sociaux (CNRS UMR 8156, EHESS, U.Paris 13, Inserm), which he directed from 2011 to 2015.
