                <summary type="html"><![CDATA[<p>The issue of regulating artificial intelligence (AI) is now
unavoidable, raising legal, ethical and societal challenges. Given
the rapid pace of technological advances, it is becoming urgent to
put in place a legal framework that can control the risks
associated with AI, while fostering its potential for
innovation.</p>
<br />
<p>Why regulate AI? How can we protect the fundamental rights of
individuals, whether in terms of privacy, non-discrimination or
algorithm transparency? How can we guarantee transparency and
fairness between players in the information chain? How can we
prevent risks, but also promote AI at the service of society,
respectful of fundamental human values?</p>
<br />
<p><b>Alexandra Bensamoun</b> is Professor of Private Law and
Criminal Sciences at Université Paris-Saclay, and a specialist in
intellectual property law and digital law. She has been a member of
the Comité interministériel de l'intelligence artificielle since
2023, and is the author of a Traité sur le droit de l'intelligence
artificielle (LGDJ, 2022). Appointed "qualified personality" to the

"https://www.culture.gouv.fr/nous-connaitre/organisation-du-ministere/Conseil-superieur-de-la-propriete-litteraire-et-artistique-CSPLA"
target="_blank">CSPLA</a> since 2018 (Conseil Supérieur de la
Propriété Littéraire et Artistique, French Ministry of Culture),
where she notably led <a class=
"underline text-cairn-main hover:text-cairn-dark font-medium !font-bold font-serif plausible-event-name=Clic+lien+externe"

"https://www.culture.gouv.fr/fr/nous-connaitre/organisation-du-ministere/Conseil-superieur-de-la-propriete-litteraire-et-artistique-CSPLA/Travaux-et-publications-du-CSPLA/Missions-du-CSPLA/ia-et-transparence-des-donnees-d-entrainment-publication-du-rapport-d-alexandra-bensamoun-sur-la-mise-en-aeuvre-du-reglement-europeen-etablissant"
target="_blank">la mission relative à la mise en oeuvre du
règlement européen établissant des règles harmonisées sur
l'intelligence artificielle (RIA)</a>, she is also an expert for
UNESCO on the 2005 Convention on the Diversity of Cultural
Expressions.</p>
